The NorthStar Initiative, in collaboration with the Great Plains Institute, will host a webinar focused on ourSustainable Procurement Initiative featuring national experts: Increasingly, corporations and government agencies are developing supply chain sustainability and procurement initiatives, aiming to stimulate sustainable product markets and address stakeholder needs for improved environmental and social product performance. However, in many cases, no available solution exists on the market, and significant cost barriers of assessment, research, or product development prevent or delay commercialization. In this webinar, we wish to explore existing and potential procurement efforts in the context of purchasing organizations: - Engaging, and potentially sharing, in the risks and benefits of designing, prototyping and testing new products and services with suppliers, and;
- Creating wider commercialization of successes through standardization and scale.
Initiative inFocus is a new dialogue-oriented program of the NorthStar Initiative for Sustainable Enterprise aiming to surface new challenges and opportunities requiring collaborative inquiry. These webinars allow many ideas to enter the discussion and identify only the most likely avenues for fruitful research and practice. Outcomes from inFocus events will directly influence broader dialogue and research conducted at the NorthStar Initiative and partnering organizations. |
